Thoughts and impressions from RICON East: I had a great time. Weird and nice to be surrounded by people all so interested in distributed systems (funnily enough kind of like going to Grace Hopper for the first time and realizing you’re not the only one). Loved some of the talks, particularly Kyle Kingsbury’s on simulating partitions in networked DBs.
Highly recommended. Wish I knew how to finagle myself into RICON West. Now I’m motivated to go think about distributed consensus and transactions.
